NiTime Retainers
Finally, aligners that are only worn at night!
It’s a common dilemma: a patient wants to straighten their teeth, but they don’t want the inconvenience of wearing clear aligners during the day. With traditional clear aligner therapy, patients have to take out their aligners before eating or drinking anything besides water, which can be a hassle.
If straightening your teeth has been a goal of yours for a while and you’re interested in aligners that are only worn at night, ask our team about NiTime retainers. These aligners are custom made to fit comfortably, and they only need to be worn between 9 and 12 hours per day to be effective. This means you’re free to go about your day as you normally would while your teeth gradually become straight and symmetrical!

Who are NiTime Retainers for?
NiTime retainers can be used to treat a variety of orthodontic issues, including:
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Gap Teeth
- Open Bite
- Crowded Teeth
Similar to Invisalign, NiTime retainers can be used to treat mild to moderate malocclusion and align bad bites. In fact, NiTime is owned by the same parent company as Invisalign, and their products are comparable in terms of quality and effectiveness.
If you are someone who is constantly on the go or you just don’t want the added responsibility of keeping track of clear aligners on a day-to-day basis, NiTime Retainers may be a perfect orthodontic solution for you.
What is the process for getting NiTime retainers?
Once it’s been decided that NiTime is your best option, digital impressions will need to be taken so your first set of aligners can be designed and created. This involves running a small digital scanner over the front, back, top, and bottom of the teeth (no goopy dental putty required!)
When your NiTime retainers arrive at our office, we will schedule a short appointment for you to come in, try them on, and take them home. Aligners are changed out every week, so you will need to schedule quick visits with our team so we can assess your progress and provide you with a couple more aligners. Average treatment time for NiTime is six months to one year, after which point you will be provided with a custom retainer to keep your new smile in place.
